It's a matter of principle. If your argument had any intellectual basis, as opposed to just being baiting, then I might welcome your "sizzle"; as things stand, I don't.

Mr. BTVN, the baiting tactics of bigdog don't bother me. Where he (or she) can muster nothing more profound than inflamatory, substance-free lashing out, I am supremely confident that my command of vocabulary and ability to write complete, gramatically correct sentences that convey cohesive thoughts serves me well. And that would be true regardless of which newscast or anchor I watch.

For the record, the modification made to the previous post was to fix a typo that undercut your point about grammatical clarity in a gently amusing way (profoud --> profound), but I haven't altered the substance of what you said at all... just so we're clear and there's no confusion or hard feelings.

Thank you for fixing the typo. As I have made my living as an editor, writer, and author for more than 25 years, I'm long past the days of getting upset when someone edits my content. As we freelancers like to say: "Just so long as the check (cheque) clears..."

According to her bio at WBZ she is the weekend morning anchor now so Paula is safe.

Many employers are not exactly up-to-the-second current with their websites. I'd guess WBZ is one of them.
And hooray -- the Associated Press Stylebook has finally adopted "website" as standard usage, dropping the old moniker, "Web site."

Never watch WBZ news but did catch Kerry on the news before my favorite show CBS Sunday Morning. Fresh, intelligent and very easy on the eyes. Why are they wasting her on the weekends? Should be the main anchor. Id' watch.

I guess that shows how opinions and tastes can differ. Though I'm sure Ms. Connolly is a very nice person, I find her television persona one of pixyish fluff. That's not a personal slam in any way. She is just not my cup of tea. I'd take the more sultry Paula Ebben any day, morning, or night (given a choice of these two).
