Melissa Mack will be filling-in for Kerry on traffic duty while Kerry is on maternity leave, 3 days a week (since she's gotta do weather on the weekends). And I believe today was Kerry's last day.

Melissa seems nice .Her smile at the end of each segment is a little too fake and rehearsed for me.

Melissa doing the traffic is an improvement. At least she understands that the little red and yellow "cars" in that terrible animated road map are not actual vehicles. But the whole animation looks like a cartoon. Channel 5's maps are much better and feel more "newsworthy". Also, WCVB's traffic reports are delivered with excellent authority.

Maybe she can breathe some life into that show .I think it is pretty obvious that Paula and David cant stand each other and Mellissa is plain awkward in her interactions with them.Its like they are trying to play catch and no one can catch the ball from each other.Nothing is fluid.Alot of one upmanship.

Well, bigdog, last time I checked, I did not have the "equipment" to qualify as female. Certainly, in this forum, I'm in the minority, but I happen to enjoy watching Paula a whole lot, and to me (and perhaps only me) she is considerably more substantive than Kerry Connolly, who really bothers me with the pixie-like delivery and nose-scrunchiness. Also, as I've noted before, I find David Wade's voice not particularly well-suited for morning TV. His voice is quite sharp and penetrating, the opposite of the smooth delivery one might prefer when starting the day. Though I'm not a Randy Price fan either, I acknowledge that his voice is far more soothing and smooth than Mr. Wade's. I generally watch WBZ until 7 a.m. (assuming I'm actually awake at that ridiculous hour), then switch to Ch. 7 for the Today show. At 7:24, it's over to Ch. 5 to catch Bianca, then back to 7. At 7:55, it's over to Ch. 4. Singlehandedly, I may be keeping Duracell in business... That said, I sure would be sad if Ms. Ebben were to be booted from the wake-up slot.

Well dotcom,Dont you think Paula (you) have anything to do with the last place showing BZ has been in since you started.They got rid of Scott,still last place,they got rid of Barry,still last place.The only change they havent tried is Paula.Stick to consumer reporting,you are very good at it.
