Hi All,
Just was wondering where Jon Keller is these days? After the President's speech last night I thought he would be doing his perspective but they had Jonathan Elias. Anyone have any updates? BTW, I love the new site. Thank you.

As far as I am concerned, he can stay on vacation - permanently. He comes across as a clown. It is impossible to take him seriously. He does not offer commentary, but simple banter.

He rips politicians and the Liberal political establishment to shreds, and that's a good thing. With as much ineptness as we have now in Massachusetts and our country thanks to one-party rule, he's quite welcome to continue his rants against people like Patrick and Obama. If these clowns are screwing up and ruining people's lives, I want someone there in the media saying so. That you won't watch him or pay attention to him probably (and happily) doesn't cause Jon any lost sleep. Welcome back, Jon!

I don't think it's the job of a political reporter in a local market to be Sean Hannity or Keith Olbermann. You don't see that from Andy Hiller, Janet Wu (the Channel 5 one) or even Joe Battenfeld (I say "even" because Fox encourages its talent to be more opinionated on-air). His son worked on Jim Ogonowski's congressional campaign (fair enough) but he didn't disclose it while analyzing the race, and had to be virtually bullied into doing so. Whatever opinion you may have of his style or his apparent politics (personally, I've never been a fan), I think it's important to have the integrity to counterbalance the theatrics.

I find him difficult to watch. His personality always annoyed me.
His delivery is hard for me to watch. And Joe Battenfield yells at the camera. (I can't stand to watch either for that reason)

I like Keller. He actually tells us whats going on at the State House--usually while Channel 7 is showing us a dirty house or a car wreck.

I find his demeanor and presentation style quite annoying.

False. The relationship was immediately disclosed on WBZ's website, and publicly disclosed numerous times thereafter, including at a debate moderated by Keller. No evidence of bias was ever even offered. Maybe BTVNadmin needs to work on their integrity.

Then explain to me why Emily Rooney's program did a whole segment and panel discussion on it, even when Jon Keller had (and continues to) appear regularly on that show? And even if they did put it on the website, that's a very out-of-the-way form of disclosure - not adequate in my opinion.

Truly feeble. Live and learn - you need to get your facts straight before you question someone else's integrity. Otherwise it just reflects on your own.

But you're not actually addressing the substance of my point (and please do me a greater courtesy than to tell me I don't have one). I'm talking about a journalistically substantive point here that I think could lead to some interesting discussion.
Namely, and in general, is it enough to issue a correction or clarification (at least at first) only on your website? Furthermore, why would Emily Rooney feel the need to do a full segment on that matter if it didn't present an issue, particularly if he could be described as "a friend of the show"?
You seem to be dismissing my points without actually addressing them. I would appreciate it very much if you would do so.

But they definitely DID mention it on the air at least a few times during the regular newscasts during election season. I heard it at least a few times on TV.
