I noticed that Barry Burbank was on the early morning and midday news this week. Has Channel 4's management come to its senses and put Barry back where he belongs (weekdays), or was this only a fill-in assignment?

Has Channel 4's management come to its senses and put Barry back where he belongs (weekdays), or was this only a fill-in assignment? He's subbing for Todd Gutner this week. While I agree Burbank belongs in a higher-profile shift, the current morning news incarnation seems to be getting more successful with time.

I don't envy any of the weekday morning weather people coming in tomorrow (Monday) and have to explain--yet again--why a predicted 8"-12" of snow ended up being rain. A tired cliche, but why on earth are weather forecasts so bad when the technology is so good?

Who was predicting 8-12" of snow from this storm? All the forecasts I saw had 2-4"/3-6" tops, which was still wrong, but no one had 8-12"! I wish people woulnd't exaggerate to make a "point."

don't sweat it anonymous person. chrisnh always says "funny" things. apparently this character works in tv, but in the past didn't know how closed captioning works, and posts lots of weather rants. with all this great technology available, i'm pretty sure he's going to start being the main weather forecaster up at wmur in a day or two, because its that easy to correctly predict the weather.

HAHAHA LOL...........Yeah, the weather maps were all over the place this weekend. At one point, the models WERE predicting 8-10 for Boston. I would like to see Chris take over for Mike Haddad for a day........just to see how accurate he is. BTW, maybe Chris..... you watched the drunken Melissa Bell on Fox 25? See here...........arrested Fri. AM, went on air Fri. Night! And Saturday Night! And Sunday AM! Fox didn't even know till this AM! www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view.bg?articleid=1154069

I don't agree with Chris very often (hardly ever, in fact), but at least he has the decency to sign himself up for the site in order to establish some kind of identity. I have no problem with guest postings, but when you're LITERALLY anonymously attacking someone without the ability for your posts to be tracked by moderators or other members, that's not right. Please treat the anonymity of the guest feature as a privilege or I may consider taking it away all together.

You know, I worked Friday and I didn't see more than 0-2" predicted for the greater Boston area... the 8-12" forecast was for northern NH and Maine, which DID happen - check the ski reports... now is the time to get up there if you're in to that stuff.

Most times it's legit, but sometimes it isn't. Oh yeah, and smugness isn't attractive.

Well if you can't take a deserved shot without firing back, I don't know what to tell you.
As far as the weather forecasting (I am the first one to hop on these people when they mess up, it affects my work, plus I plow), I think overall, they've done a VERY good job at predictions (amounts/time frame) this season. I think this is a sign of todays technology. I couldn't tell you how many times this year I was hoping they would mess up, but it really hasn't happened.
I also hope we are done with the white stuff too!

When I want to know what the weather is, I look out the window. Why do these people need three minutes of air time to tell me 1) what the weather WAS, 2) what the weather is NOW, and 3) what they believe it is likely to be for the next several days. Only No. 3 is useful. Furthermore, their forecasts are largely a word-for-word regurgitation of the forecasts, advisories, watches, and warnings published continuously by the National Weather Service. Seems to me, it's no different than an anchor who does nothing more than read wire copy. (That said, I've made no secret that I find Mike Wankum's on-air performance and persona light years better than anyone else in the Boston market. I hope to see Harvey Leonard step aside soon.)

It's not a window... They have a big DOOR now in the studio next to the weather center!
