Yet another departure from WHDH has been announced - this time it's Matt Lorch, who's leaving to anchor the 5pm newscast for the Fox station in Seattle.

Boy, this puts the cat among the pigeons! (My outside bet to replace Frances Rivera is now Reed Cowan who just left WSVN)

It will be interesting to see who replaces Lorch. They never replaced anyone on weekend night's either if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if 7 will give the reporters and anchors a union contract now.

No, I doubt that 7 will be any more flexible in dealing with their lower paid on air employees in terms of cutting back their salaries even more in the contract dealings. Good for Matt Lorch, a great guy. Now that the economy is improving and there is more movement in the industry, there is increasing opportunity to get out of a place like 7, and that is exactly what you are seeing happening.
