How about the recent weather forecast? It proved the old axiom that God created meteorologists to make economists look accurate.

Tv metorologist have to be real careful not to mess up like they did last week. Many times in the past a missed weather forcast is used as a reason to fire, demote or not renew their contract. It can also have could lead to a potential civil suit for damages.

as in the case with the last storm though, EVERYONE was forecasting the same thing, so there would be no reason to fire, demote, or not renew a contract. Also as Gov. Patrick said, it is better to be over-prepared then under-prepared

I give credit to all but one of our local forecasters. Everyone but Mr. Bouchard had the courage to stand up and say "Hey I screwed up and I apologize". While Mr. Bouchard took the path of coming up with excuses on why it didn't pan out and brushed off any blame. Boo to you Bouchard!
It's also amusing to watch them all walk on egg-shells with this next batch of slop we've got coming up. Nobody wants cement anything.

Clearly you don't watch channel 7 at all, because he, like everyone else, did apologize.

Random note:
My Dad even thinks he's a joke now since his 9 inch comment he made on apparently nothing that ever hit the AIR monitor. My Dad said he's a joke... and my Dad's 60. lol Boy that stunt he pulled went viral.
It also frightens me when your "chief meteorologist" allegedly has NO IDEA what the viewing public is seeing on air.

Also... I'm not looking for an apology per say... weather changes. Perhaps an explanation of how the storm tracked differently is in line. After all we are talking about predicting water falling out of the sky from a cloud here.

rebreton, you did get one thing right, I DON'T watch channel 7. I've learned in life to stay away from things that are not good for you.
I also don't make things up just to post here. I watched all forecasters for two days following the storm, if it took your pal Pete 3 days to finally admit his screw up, I'm sorry that's a lil to late for me.
I can point out where you're wrong, but I can't take away your glowing bias for 7.

Ugh, that didn't happen on air. Maybe over the phone to the Herald writer?
I give up.......

It's still a matter of public record, and though Pete and I do know each other in passing, I didn't approve of the "nine-inch" comment; that said, at this point, I think you're nitpicking, and as far as young Mr. Breton, I can tell you his bias (if he even has one) is extremely far from Channel 7.

The whole weather thing with TV meteorologists is silly. All they do is regurgitate the forecasts published by the National Weather Service. Even I could do that.
I get the NWS feeds through my WeatherBug Plus account. The stuff I hear the local TV people telling us is, if not exactly word for word, a very close paraphrase.
All we need is the four-day or five-day graphic. The entire segment can be done in 30 seconds.
