It's too bad. Certainly, when he was flying, it was one of the best roles in local tv, and Doug was a perfect fit. I wish him the best. I hope he lands at one of the other morning programs.

Man, that really STINKS!!!!!
I was watching a piece he did last week on news years eve morning with Carmen Electra, and while I thought he got a bit to gooey with it, it was fun to watch him do it.
At least to me he was the type you could really connect to (maybe because we are close in age), but then again, there are plenty of others that don't even come close to that 'connect'.
He is good and will land on his feet. I'm sure of this.

I hope he doesn't read that at a time like this; he would rightly find it folk-ing insensitive!

I'm told the position is being eliminated altogether.

Well they've decided that a sports/traffic figures are not necessary. When will we be seeing Mark and Maria doing the weather?

Well they've decided that a sports/traffic figures are not necessary. When will we be seeing Mark and Maria doing the weather? Well have you seen WJAR-Providence? They recently cut back on weather staff so that they had only 3 meteorologists. I had previously switched to watching WPRI, and decided to give WJAR news another chance one morning. So, I turned on the TV, and saw the 65 year old solo anchor trying to get through weather by himself and changed the channel. WJAR is also all automated, so it must have been a pretty lonely place that morning. But back on topic, that's really too bad. I'm now even less likely to watch the FOX 25 morning news. I usually just stick to WBZ for the morning news, but not for the Early Show.

He may have options to 'lance at 25 but budget squeeze is on so do more with less MO is the new reality in Dedham. Better hope AI sales pick up. It's been a brutal summer and fall.

When is Doug leaving? He's been on all week, and he's still in the 'Morning News' graphic.
With both Doug and 'Hollywood' Jim Armstrong going, who will do the American Idol reports?
Maybe Doug can do some freelancing at WBZ, when Kerry Connolly is out on maternity leave.

FIRST ON BTVN: Doug will remain with the station on a freelance basis through at least February.

That is good news for Doug. Maybe we will see him reporting at night or something. Also when is Jim Armstrong leaving?
