A clarification - we hope that a clearer wording on this story will present a more accurate picture of the earlier-reported situation.
WE'RE BEING TOLD THAT THE PRODUCTION COMPANY BEHIND NECN'S "STYLE BOSTON" IS IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH FORMER WBZ ENTERTAINMENT STALWART JOYCE KULHAWIK TO HAVE HER JOIN THEIR PROGRAM. TO BE CLEAR, THE SHOW IS NOT PRODUCED BY NECN ITSELF, BUT BY A SEPARATE ENTITY WHICH PAYS THE NETWORK TO AIR IT.
KULHAWIK HAS BEEN OFF-THE-AIR SINCE MAY OF LAST YEAR.
DETAILS ARE LARGELY UNCONFIRMED, BUT THERE WILL BE MORE AS WE GET IT!

Besides, Ms. Kulhawik has that high-profile gig as a judge on Community Auditions. "Star of the day, who will it be? ...."

As I understand it, they may be trying to get her out of the remainder of her contract. I'm not 100% on that so don't quote me.
Also, another thing to bear in mind... this isn't NECN's money or decision-making we're talking about here, it's that of the production company putting on the show and their resources are likely to be more expansive than NECN.

I saw her on a commercial on WCVB for something about the local art scent, I cannot remember exactly what it was, so I don't know if this has anything to do with her being under contract.
