I don't know if anyone else watched the MTV Movie Awards, but 7 bought air time and aired their "Your Newscast" Promo. I wonder how much they payed for that, and whose idea it was, because their target audience was most likely watching the MTV Movie Awards tonight. I think it was a good idea since they are trying to gain the younger demographic.

I didn't watch, but I'm pretty sure they just bought the time from your local cable company. I know cable companies do this. It probably wasn't that much money either. In otherwords, it wasn't seen nationally.

I know it wasn't shown nationally, I didn't mean to imply that it was, I just wanted to point out the efforts that 7 is going to in order to gain the much coveted younger demo. I'm curious to know what everyone else thinks about this, is it a good idea for local news stations to send money to promote themselves on cable stations? I know of at least one other station that does it as well, WTNH in New Haven, CT.

I believe WHDH just made a deal with Comcast to stream different commercials to their Comcast feed. Those ads on the cable channels must be part of that deal.
