Are you sure it's not for the evening traffic reports? If it is to replace Rich that's a shame. Mornings. It's the one area that the 'BZ Morning News really lacks. The flat, dull maps might hopefully be replaced by some sort of graphics system. I really like Triangle Software's Beat the Traffic system (http://www.trianglesoftware.com/3D_mapping.aspx). WCVB is using a chroma key (not sure of the system); WHDH uses Traffic.com's system. It's time for an upgrade. WCVB uses the Weather Central traffic system I believe.

"Mish Signs Off" will air tonight on WBZ news at 11.
Max - if it's not a bother, you might want to post something on the front page? Idk, I do think this is a pretty significant sign-off in Boston TV weather, definitely.

This is unfortunate. She will be missed. Thanks for all the great work over the years, Mish.

wbztv.com/video/?id=79490@wbz.dayport.comShows that WBZ had a lot of respect for Mish and it was probably hard for them to make the decision to let her go. I liked seeing the old clips of her. Good luck Mish... you will be missed.

What makes you believe that the decision to leave was not hers? I'm pretty sure that WBZ chose not to renew her contract... I may be mistaken Perhaps. But why permit the send-off, then? Also, how much will truly be saved since the position is not being eliminated? If anything, it may have been a mutual decision. Mish wanted more time with her family; the station wanted her to have a regular on-air shift... (http://cbslocalblogs.prospero.com/n/blogs/blog.aspx?nav=main&webtag=wbz_forecast&entry=1285)

It was clearly Mish's decision to leave. WBZ has as job opening for an environmental reporter/fill in meteorologist.
