according to hinghamweather.com Christa Delcamp is the new female anchor for 7 News First at 4, 430, and 530 with Matt Lorch. Good for her she is a great anchor and after what they did to her from Today in New England to weekend morning anchor. She belongs in that spot.

I think Christa is great! I actually have been enjoying the evening newscasts much more with her anchoring with Kim while Frances has been on vacation. She comes across as more genuine and not as fake as Frances can sometimes. Also she is the opposite of Kim, both Kim and Frances have dark hair and darker complexions while Christa has blond hair and a lighter complexion, which when matched with Kim or Matt makes the pairing seem more dynamic (and no I do not have a thing for blonds, I actually like brunettes). She can also banter with either Kim or Matt much better than Frances can without it seeming awkward or making a comment that is too young for her age, like Frances often does with exclamations of OMG! or WTH!
Just my opinion...

I'm a long time poster but 1st time poster in the new setup. Formally known as 7&56Watcher.
But I did decide to post because I am so sick of the Christa loving.
Christa has turned me off from 7. Her phoniness and constant mannerisms has dragged down 7 completely. She bring an unwanted and unneeded chattiness that isn't useful and necessary. She chats with Matt & Kim (to a lesser degree) too much. I watch a newscast and Christa goes on a chatting tangent, and Matt joins in too much (a habit of his he just can't break with a chatty co-anchor like Christa. Kim with Christa does it less but Kim has those tenancies as well. Frances is great by the fact that she chats very briefly with Christa and everybody else far less.
Christa is the weakest anchor by far at 7. Someone realized it when she moved off mornings and it improved. Same with the other shifts she left. She'll be off so enough though as with before put her to reporting where's she's tolerable.
I am always so happy when she's off its back to the good days with 7. If they keep this up I will be an exclusive viewer of WBZ News @ 5:30 (except for weather).
Sorry to be blunt and its just my opinion but Christa is the weakest link at 7.

Ouch! (But allowable on the basis that you stuck to talking strictly about her on-air performance, which is what's important here, so thank you for that)

As Max said Ouch! But I respect your opinion and I'll agree to disagree with you newsman.
But I do have one question, do you think that Frances is the better anchor, meaning do you think that she is better at reading the news and presenting a story? For me, there are sometimes where she sounds to be coming off as fake, she doesn't seem to be talking naturally, and you can tell because when she is done reading a story she changes her voice to talk to whomever. It sounds like she is reading but not fully comprehending what she is reading/saying. And I mean no disrespect when I say that, I am not commenting on her intellect, just commenting on the way she presents herself.
Once again, just my opinion...

I've never had the opportunity to meet or talk to Frances before but my brother did a phone interview with her for a class at his college and he said that she was extremely nice and really genuine, so I'm sure she really isn't a fake person, but like I said she does have a tendency to come across as fake sometimes and that's what the viewers see, they don't know that she really isn't like that.

I don't think anyone needs to accurately verify it, just watch the next broadcast. Seems pretty obvious that she is expecting. Best wishes to her.
