Agreed, 5 has the most seamless operation going right now, but I don't think you can call WBZ the worst in Boston as long as FOX25 is around. They're constantly shedding reporters and their sports dept. is grossly understaffed/underutilized in comparison to what the other three stations have.
I do agree with the second part of your point though, Deaton. WBZ's set and graphics are just plain embarrassing for a top 10 market station. I can understand why a set wouldn't be at the top of their priorities list at a time like this, but the gfx on the other hand are very much fixable by just adopting the CBS O&O package.

Ch. 7 is a joke.
Ch. 4 is now completely unwatachable as Jack Williams continues his descent into banality and possible senility, making embarrassing comments and guffaws after every story.
Fox has Maria Stephanos with her annoying, loud, screeching, valley-girl delivery.
That leaves Ch. 5. Just get rid of Amalia Barrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreda.

Well, Max, since you ask, I do like chocolate a lot. And sushi. As for anchors, my taste runs counter to many of this forum's denizens. On 'BZ, I do like Paula Ebben, Lisa Hughes, and Ken Macleod. WCVB offers Heather Unruh (I do miss Shiba Russell). Though I'm not a huge fan of Randy Price, I do clearly recognize his excellence. At WHDH, I think Amanda Grace's camera presence conveys a nice sense of warmth. (But 'HDH's verbless story leads are still putrid.)
From my childhood in the 1950s, I was taught that WBZ is the channel that one watches for local news. I continued to abide by that for most of my life. (But now, I turn to WHDH for the NBC Nightly News instead of a bygone time when I'd stick with WBZ for NBC's The Huntley-Brinkley Report.) So, it is with some sadness that I've had to finally abandon WBZ and move to WCVB, whose Needham studios (in a one-time Caterpillar bulldozer facility) are a mere half-mile from where I grew up.
Finally, I'll point out that my out-of-town guests during the last week found Mr. Williams to be, well, as they said, "awful, just awful." Alas, I can no longer disagree with that assessment. It's not unlike Jason Varitek and Tim Wakefield, two others who have stayed far too long and become embarrassing shadows of themselves.
