Jack, Liz, Bob, Don and Joyce. How bout dem apples? I hope that's not an actual suggestion, given one of the bigger stories we've covered here recently.

C'mon Max! That would be my all time WBZ "Dream Team". I am aware of who is available and who's not.

mvjournalist, it's amazing that 'BZ hasn't looked into their past to solve their ratings problems. Channel 7, for all the flack it gets, hasn't changed their format since it found something that works (ie: 7 News since 1994, after years of Newsroom 7, The New England News, News 7 New England, etc...). 4 HAD something that worked well (Eyewitness News was neck a neck with 'CVB in the 80's and early 90's) until they messed with the format. I also think getting rid of Lobel was a BIG mistake. Like him or not, he was a "name" New Englanders know.

sp113, I don't mean to rebrand it back to the 80s. They should try to rebrand in a manner similar to what sister station (and former Group W station) WJZ has done with their Eyewitness News brand. Chroma Cues, I don't think would work here and I am not a big fan of Pride Collection either. Now CBS Boston 2000 on the other hand...

Saw that, thanks for posting bg02445. It fits much better than Pride Collection. They never should have gotten rid of that theme for Adrenaline (and that generic CBS 4 News presentation, yikes). WBZ could always bring back the FOURzilla: (Just kidding)

David Wade should stay. Mellissa Mack still looks like a ' Deer in the Headlights'. Paula Ebben is not the answer and neither is Kerry even if she is more watchable than Paula. Steal Fitzgibbons from Fox ( she must be getting tired of 5 hours every day) and she would mix well with David and try someone else as co anchor.

David Wade is very good, but I find his voice too sharp and penetrating for morning TV. Though I do not watch WCVB's EyeOpener, I'd submit Randy Price as a far more soothing, less edgy voice, better suited for early morning. I like Paula Ebben and tune in to watch her. That's just me -- I like the sultry type. I am not at all a Kerry Connolly fan; I find her way too pixie-like with no gravitas.
As for 5, 6, and 11 p.m., Jonathan Elias is quite excellent. Sad to say, but I now find Jack Williams totally unwatchable. His ridiculous guffaws and need to make an insipid comment after every single story has become an obnoxious embarassment. It's like watching Ted Baxter on the old Mary Tyler Moore show. I enjoy Lisa Hughes very much, but, alas, she has become collateral damage now that I'm watching WCVB in the evening. Switching to Ch. 5 has not been easy; I was raised to watch WBZ going all the way back to Jack Chase and Arch MacDonald, and have pretty much stuck with it since the 1960s. Until now.

Jonathan Elias is terrific. David Wade - don't care for him since he moved to WBZ - I don't see any chemistry between him and Paula. I have never been a fan of hers. Sorry to say that you are correct about Jack Williams and Ted Baxter. I like them both!! I too grew up watching Don Kent, Jack Chase and Arch McDonald. But I do like Kerry Connolly and was a big fan of Scott and Kerry.
