What do you think of 7News on Facebook. I think its pretty cool and it attracks the younger crown like me in my early 20's. Very informative.
What does everyone else think?

I think its a GREAT idea and for me when i come to work so early and here all day to 6. I check my Facebook often and i see 7 off to the side i can check the weather, news, and everything else while i am catching up with friends at the same time. Channel 7 is getting into the new way of bringing people the news. Plus did you see the pictures of Frances and Kim....the new hott team in Boston. I think thats the best move Channel 7 did was kick Matt to the side and pair Frances with Kim (Caught my eye!). Wowzaaa's!

WBZ has been using Facebook for over a year now, but more as a promotional tool (www.facebook.com/wbztv). The topical stuff is left for Twitter (www.twitter.com/wbz).

I agree, its a great idea, they found a good way to let people know about breaking news without having to go to their website. Now you just get an update on your Facebook and you get the breaking news and the weather, I like how they are using it for their Viewers Voices segment too and people can post their opinions and people can view everyone else's responses. They found a way to present themselves even more to their niche demo, young adults.
Regarding the new team of Frances and Kim, I think that it was a great decision, much better than Frances and Matt. They definitely are trying for the men demos, when my brother first saw them together and I told them that they switched the news team up, he's like, "Nice, they've got me watching." or something to that extent.

I see that 7 has taken our comments and used them in a promo... Care to offer us anything for what was basically the entire content for your advertisement???

I caught it during the Pro Bowl. Let me preface my point by saying that my opinion of the promo has nothing to do with the quality of the remarks they took from this thread. Everyone seems well spoken here.
What I do take issue with is the manner in which they snipped and presented them. It makes their viewers sound like air heads. Hearing Scott Chapin quote little bits in an excitable tone "I like that it's topical". "I think it's great", etc. It sounds like such a silly, amateur operation.

Fox 25 has been doing this with VB for along time and frankly has a much better blog than anything that can be done on Facebook. If someone is going to follow a model that is funny, entertaining and often cuts to the chaffe they out to mirror VB's mail call
