NBC May Launch Boston Site NOT Tied to WHDH

This report indicate that NBC is looking to start up its own local news and information site to rival boston.com, but it will have little or nothing to do with whdh.com, which, coincidentally, will be the undergoing its own revamp in the coming months.

Inside sources tell me that NBC looks like it may be looking to compete in the lifestyle content category, while apparently WHDH is looking to own the local news category.

Based on the way the nbc local only sites look in other markets, I would have no interest in an nbcboston site. How would they even get people to go to their site? WHDH certainly won't be airing promos.
