I'm hoping for the end of July. I didn't know it was so much work to get the new graphics on the air. They'll probably wait for Mish to leave so they won't have to bother training her with the new graphics.

Noticed that the doppler radar has been upgraded (though not broadcast in HD yet).

Ken Barlow tweeted last night he was being trained on how to use the new graphics.

Just got back from vacation and noticed the new doppler graphics. I was hoping to see the weather graphics had already premiered.
While I was on vacation in the Ft. Myers area (market 62, we are market 7) I was surprised to see how far ahead their market is compared to ours with HD technology. I did not catch much of the news, but from time to time I flipped around to look at their local news. WINK-TV (CBS) stood out to me, they had HD field cameras! And it got me thinking how bad WBZ is with their HD technology. They cannot even record studio promos for upcoming news shows in HD. I cannot speak for everyone, but I know that whatever station upgrades their field cameras to HD I will be calling my new news station.

Good to hear. Perhaps they can shrink the banners to a similar size of the 'Live' and 'SkyEye' graphics. There's no need to take up valuable HD 'real estate' with 18pt. fonts and a large CBS eye.

Lets hope they get rid of that awful, ugly virtual weather set. Keep it simple, I'll watch 7 if I want an over-the-top virtual weather set.

Lets hope they get rid of that awful, ugly virtual weather set. Keep it simple, I'll watch 7 if I want an over-the-top virtual weather set. Obviously they will be, now that their graphics are going to be in 16x9 HD. They didn't use it in the same way 7 did either... it was more of a placeholder for their 4x3 SD graphics...

The graphics look great, so nice to get rid of that light blue eye sore. Why is WBZ's weather so fast... it seems to be about a minute while the other stations seem to be double that.

I like the new look. I say it's a nice improvement.
